Some people, without saying a single word, change the heart like a passing breeze.
That change is usually not loud, nor easy to notice.
Yet, after some time passes, you suddenly realize that a different texture than before is quietly wrapping around your days.
Perhaps the change that came “because of you” was that kind of thing.
It was a morning no different from usual, yet the moment I opened the window, the air felt unusually soft.
A heart that had sunk like heavy clouds would, on some days, grow lighter for no reason, and the trees along the road would appear a deeper shade of green.
I came to understand that it does not take much time for someone’s presence to awaken a person’s senses again.
What changed “because of you” was nothing grand.
A thought that once lingered on a trivial tone of voice stretched farther than before, and emotions that had long been closed off cautiously breathed the outside air.
Fear diminished, the range of joy widened just a little, and warmth began to linger even in moments that used to pass unnoticed.
Changes that cannot be explained usually take place deep within the heart.
And such changes are made not by reasons, but by “people.”
At times, without realizing it, one begins to match their breathing to someone else’s rhythm.
A person who once spared their words begins to add one more sentence, and someone who was led by distrust chooses to lean slightly toward trust.
At the beginning of all these movements, there is no grand event—only the simple fact that “that person was there.”
People change without even realizing it themselves.
To some, a passing stranger may remain nothing more than that, but to others, they become a breeze that subtly shifts the direction of a life.
That breeze sometimes makes an afternoon warmer and gently stirs the long-silent emotions resting deep within.
When I think of the phrase “because of you,” feeling always arrives before explanation.
A voice that has grown softer, a tomorrow that feels a little less frightening, days that have become slightly brighter.
Perhaps such changes are the quietest and deepest gift that one person can give to another.
